📄 Additional Notification Details & Guidelines

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Barauni Refinery, has published the recruitment notification for 272 Trade Apprentice and Technician Apprentice posts under Advertisement Number BR/HR/APPR/2026-27/II. The online application window opened on 6 November 2026 and closes on 6 December 2026. The engagement covers four trades — Trade Apprentice (Attendant Operator, Chemical Plant), Trade Apprentice (Boiler), Technician Apprentice (Mechanical) and Technician Apprentice (Instrumentation) — at the Barauni Refinery in Begusarai, Bihar. Selection is made purely on academic merit: there is no written test.

Candidates should not confuse this recruitment with the separate IOCL Pipelines Division apprentice drive for 500 posts, which is a different advertisement with a different last date (5 December 2026). This post covers only the Barauni Refinery notification, Advt. No. BR/HR/APPR/2026-27/II, and every detail below is from that notification. B.Sc. graduates apply for the two Trade Apprentice trades, and Diploma holders apply for the two Technician Apprentice trades — and the application is a two-step process: first on the NAPS or NATS portal, then a mandatory Microsoft Form. Both steps must be completed, or the application is not valid.

Two things need to be stated with care. First, the application fee is not mentioned in the notification, so this post states no fee figure. Second, the stipend is paid as per the Apprentices Act and the Corporation’s guidelines — no fixed monthly amount is stated in the notification, so no stipend figure is published here. Candidates should confirm both from the official notification on iocl.com before applying.

The list of candidates called for Document Verification is tentatively scheduled for publication on 11 December 2026. The sources checked list conflicting windows for the Document Verification itself (one entry reads 14–18 December 2026 and another carries garbled March 2026 dates), so this post does not state a Document Verification date as fact — candidates should follow the dates in the official notification and on iocl.com.

IOCL Barauni Apprentice Application Fee 2026

The official IOCL Barauni Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification does not mention any application fee. This post does not state any fee amount, because no fee figure has been verified. Candidates should follow the instructions given on the online application portal, and should not pay any fee to any person or website other than the official application portal. If the portal asks for a fee during the application, candidates should check the amount against the official notification before paying.

IOCL Barauni Apprentice Selection Process 2026

There is no written test in this recruitment. Selection is made on the basis of the percentage of marks in descending order — the aggregate of marks of all subjects of all years/semesters — obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the trade applied for.

Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time. In case of a tie in percentage of marks, the date of birth (senior by age) is the deciding factor. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage in Matriculation is ranked higher.

Candidates belonging to PwBD categories who have availed relaxation in eligibility qualification marks will be considered against reserved seats, irrespective of their position in the select list (in order of merit within the category). Shortlisted candidates are called for Document Verification, and only candidates declared fit in the Pre-Engagement Medical Examination are considered for engagement. Filling up of seats is solely at the discretion of the management based on suitability of candidates.
