The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has declared the Computer Based Test result for the Head Constable (Ministerial)-2020 recruitment. The result notice, released on 2 November 2026, shortlists 1,725 candidates for the next stage, the Skill and Typing Test, against 115 vacancies. Candidates who appeared for the CBT held on 7 July 2026 can check their scores through the official recruitment portal, recruitment.ssb.gov.in.
This is a stage result, not the final selection. The 1,725 shortlisted candidates are fifteen times the number of vacancies, which is the normal ratio for a qualifying typing stage. Only those who clear the typing test will move towards document verification and the final merit list.

Typing Test Dates and Centres
The Skill and Typing Test will be held on two dates at different centres. The test starts on 16 November 2026 at Alwar and New Delhi, and on 18 November 2026 at Bhopal, Supaul and Gorakhpur. Your own centre and date will be given in the typing test admit card, which the SSB will upload on recruitment.ssb.gov.in and ssb.gov.in. As of 3 November 2026, reports indicate the typing test admit cards are not yet out, so shortlisted candidates should keep checking the official portal rather than trusting forwarded links.
Typing Speed Standards
The typing test is qualifying in nature. Candidates must type at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer, within the prescribed time of 10 minutes, with up to 5 percent mistakes permitted. No marks from the typing test are added to the final merit ranking. The final merit is prepared on the aggregate marks obtained in the CBT, among candidates who qualify the typing test and complete document verification and the remaining formalities.
How to Check the SSB HC Ministerial Result
- Go to the official SSB recruitment portal, recruitment.ssb.gov.in.
- Open the Notices and Circulars section.
- Find the notice titled “List of Candidates declared qualified in written examination (CBT) and Shortlisted for Typing / Skill Test for the post of HC (Min)-2020”, dated 2 November 2026.
- Open the shortlist PDF and search for your roll number.
- To check your individual score, log in to the recruitment portal with your credentials.
Do not treat screenshots of the shortlist shared on social media as proof of selection. Only the PDF on the official portal, and your own login scorecard, are reliable.
What Shortlisted Candidates Should Do Now
First, confirm your roll number in the official shortlist PDF. Second, note your typing test date and centre once the admit card is uploaded, and plan travel early, because centres are spread across five cities. Third, practise typing daily at the required speed in the language you chose, because the test allows only a small error margin and the speed must be sustained for the full duration. Fourth, keep your original certificates ready for document verification, which follows the typing test for those who qualify.
What If Your Roll Number Is Not in the List
If your roll number does not appear in the shortlist, you have not qualified for the typing test in this recruitment. The notice itself is the intimation to all candidates, and no separate communication is sent to those not shortlisted. Your CBT scorecard on the portal will still show your marks, which is useful for understanding where you stood against the cut-off.
