The Odisha Livelihoods Mission (OLM), working under the Department of Mission Shakti of the Government of Odisha, has opened a large recruitment drive for 2026. A total of 1,115 contractual posts are on offer across 57 different role types, spread over the state, district and block levels of the mission. Online applications opened on 6 November 2026 and will remain open till 5 December 2026.
This is a fresh notification — the advertisement is dated 4 November 2026 — and it is the first OLM drive of this scale since the 2020 recruitment. The posts cover project management, finance, accounts, MIS, livelihoods, livestock, fisheries, social inclusion and several other streams. Selection will be through a single computer based test followed by document verification. There is no group discussion and no personal interview in this recruitment.
Candidates should note two things at the outset. First, this is a contractual engagement, not a regular government appointment, and the monthly pay is a consolidated amount that differs from role to role. Second, every applicant must have passed Odia language in Class 8 or Class 10 (or hold an Odia Test Pass Certificate). The complete vacancy break-up, dates, fee, age limit, eligibility, pay and exam pattern are given below.

OLM Vacancy Details 2026

The arithmetic checks out exactly: 53 + 188 + 874 = 1,115.

The three biggest single roles in this drive are Block Manager (453 posts), Block Accountant cum MIS Assistant (247 posts) and Block Mission Manager (174 posts). Category-wise Vacancy Break-up (District and Block posts)
| Post | UR | OBC | SC | ST | PwD* | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Program Assistant | 4 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 6 |
| District Mission Manager | 5 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 8 |
| Project Manager (each of the 4 district PM roles) | 15 | 3 | 5 | 7 | 1 | 30 |
| Accountant cum MIS Assistant (district) | 30 | 7 | 10 | 13 | 2 | 60 |
| Block Mission Manager | 99 | 0 | 22 | 53 | 7 | 174 |

| Block Accountant cum MIS Assistant | 137 | 8 | 34 | 68 | 10 | 247 |
*PwD figures are a horizontal reservation within the total, not additional seats — for example, the 18 PwD seats for Block Manager are included in the 453 total. All 46 state-level single posts are unreserved (1 each). The category table shows OBC as zero for most posts because the notification uses SEBC, the term Odisha uses for socially and educationally backward classes; do not read the zero as an absence of reservation for SEBC candidates.

OLM Salary / Pay Scale 2026
The monthly pay is a consolidated amount and varies widely by role, from Rs. 16,560 to Rs. 72,450 per month. The Program Assistant, the lowest-paid role in the drive, gets Rs. 16,560 per month. These are contractual consolidated amounts — candidates should check the detailed advertisement for any additional allowances or deductions before applying.
OLM Selection Process 2026
Selection is made in three steps, with no interview at any stage:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): a single paper of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks, to be completed in 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwD candidates). The paper is in English. Each correct answer earns 1 mark, each wrong answer loses 0.33 marks, and unattempted questions carry no deduction.
- Provisional merit list: prepared on the basis of CBT marks.
- Document Verification: candidates are called in the ratio of up to three times the number of vacancies for each post. The final merit list is prepared after verification.
There is no group discussion and no personal interview. The CBT syllabus has two parts: a general section covering logical reasoning / general mental ability, quantitative aptitude, general knowledge and general English, and a post-specific domain syllabus. The official syllabus document is 101 pages long and is post-wise, so candidates should download it from the official portal and prepare only the sections that apply to their post.
