📄 Additional Notification Details & Guidelines

The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur, has issued a fresh notification for Radiographer (Job Trainee) posts. Advertisement 15/2026, issued on 3 November 2026, announces 43 vacancies in two departments of the Himachal Pradesh Government: the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the Department of Medical Education and Research. Online applications will open on 12 November 2026 and close on 7 December 2026 at 11:59 PM through the official HPRCA portal at hprca.hp.gov.in. Selected candidates will be engaged as Job Trainees on a fixed monthly honorarium of Rs. 18,000.

Two timing points matter here. First, the application window has not opened yet at the time of this post: candidates cannot apply today, and should use the gap before 12 November to get their registration documents and HP Para Medical Council registration details ready. Second, this is a Job Trainee engagement under the Himachal Pradesh Government’s Job Trainee Policy, not a regular pay-scale appointment, so applicants should read the honorarium and tenure conditions in the notification carefully before applying.

Eligibility: Qualification and Registration

Applicants must fulfil both of the following academic conditions. First, they must have passed 10+2 with Science subjects from a recognised Board of School Education or University. Second, they must hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the prescribed disciplines: B.Sc. Medical Technology (Radiology and Imaging); B.Sc. Medical Technology (Radio Diagnosis and Radiotherapy); B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray and Radio Diagnosis); B.Sc. Radiation Technology; B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology; B.Sc. Medical Technology (Radio Diagnosis and Imaging); B.Sc. Medical Technology (Radiography and Imaging); B.Sc. in Allied Health Science or Medical Imaging Technology; B.Sc. in Medical Radio and Imaging Technology; Bachelor of Radiation and Imaging Technology; or Bachelor of Radiation Technology (Lateral Entry).

In addition, applicants must be registered with the Himachal Pradesh Para Medical Council, Shimla, presently the State Allied Health Care Council, HP. Without that registration, the application does not meet the prescribed conditions, so candidates whose registration is pending should check the notification for the exact cut-off position on registration before the window closes.

There is also a schooling condition. As specified in the notification, candidates should have completed both Matriculation and 10+2 from educational institutions located within Himachal Pradesh. This requirement is not applicable to bonafide Himachali candidates. Applicants who studied outside the state should therefore check whether they fall under the bonafide Himachali exception before applying.

As a desirable qualification, the notification mentions knowledge of Himachal Pradesh’s customs, traditions and local dialects and the ability to work under the specific conditions prevailing in the state. This is a preference-related criterion, not a substitute for the essential qualification and registration conditions above.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age eligibility is determined with reference to 1 January 2026. The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 45 years. Eligible candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, persons with disabilities domiciled in Himachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh Government employees and ex-servicemen of Himachal Pradesh can avail themselves of a relaxation of up to five years in the upper age limit, subject to applicable government rules. Candidates should check the official advertisement for the applicable category-specific conditions, since the relaxation ceiling and the conditions attached to it vary by category.

Salary: Fixed Honorarium as Job Trainee

Candidates appointed as Radiographer (Job Trainees) will be paid a fixed consolidated amount of Rs. 18,000 per month. The engagement is governed by the Job Trainee Policy of the Himachal Pradesh Government, issued by the Department of Personnel through Notification Per(AP)-C-B(15)-3/2024 dated 19 July 2025. Applicants should not read this as a regular pay-scale post: the Rs. 18,000 figure is a fixed honorarium under the Job Trainee Policy, and the notification itself governs the tenure and other conditions of the engagement.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The recruitment authority will conduct a Computer Based Test or Written Screening Test to shortlist candidates. The examination will consist of 120 objective-type questions carrying a total of 120 marks, with 90 minutes allowed to complete it, at one mark per question.

Candidates should refer to the detailed syllabus published on the official HPRCA website for examination preparation, since the area list above is a summary, not the full syllabus.
