Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a three-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a government-recognised institute, or a degree in Civil Engineering from an Indian university, or AMIE Section A and B, subject to the conditions laid down in the advertisement.
Domicile: Only candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are eligible. A valid domicile certificate in the prescribed format, issued on or before the last date of application, is required.
Age Limit (as on 1 January 2026): The maximum age is 40 years for Open Merit candidates. For SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS and OBC candidates the upper limit is 43 years, and for physically challenged persons it is 42 years, subject to the notification’s conditions. Candidates should not have been born after 1 January 2008.

The fee is to be paid online through net banking, credit card or debit card. It is non-refundable.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on merit in a written or OMR-based examination consisting of objective-type multiple-choice questions set in English only. One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer. There is no interview. Candidates shortlisted in the written examination will be called for document verification. The examination schedule and centres will be announced separately on the JKSSB website.
