The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have opened the graduate-level Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment for 2026 under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 06/2026. The detailed notification offers 3,548 posts across four graduate-level categories in Indian Railways, with online applications open from 8 October 2026 to 6 November 2026. The 3,548 vacancies are divided among four posts as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university, completed on or before 06 November 2026. Candidates awaiting their final results are not eligible. Typing proficiency is required for the typist posts as per the notification.

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2027)

The age limit is 18 to 33 years for unreserved candidates. Age relaxation applies as per government rules: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, and 10 to 15 years for PwBD candidates.

Application Fee

After appearing in the 1st Stage CBT, Rs. 400 is refunded to candidates who paid Rs. 500, and Rs. 250 is refunded to concession-category candidates, after applicable bank charges. The fee is paid online through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through the following stages:

1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) – 100 questions, 90 minutes, with negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer.
2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) – 120 questions, 90 minutes.
3. Document Verification – original certificates and eligibility documents are checked.
4. Medical Examination – candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards.

Note: some trackers mention a typing skill test or computer-based aptitude test for certain posts, while detailed-notification summaries list only the stages above. Candidates should check the stage list for their chosen post in the detailed CEN before applying.

How to Apply Online

1. Visit the official RRB application portal rrbapply.gov.in.
2. Choose any one RRB and complete the registration with a valid email address and mobile number.
3. Fill the detailed application form with personal, educational and category details.
4. Upload the required documents and photograph in the prescribed format.
5. Pay the application fee online and submit the form before 06 November 2026 (11:59 PM).
6. Keep a printout of the submitted form for your records.

Do not wait for the last day. The portal often gets heavy traffic near the closing date.
