The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2026 Paper-I admit card on its official website ssc.gov.in, from 30 October 2026 onwards. The admission certificate is released through the SSC login portal in line with each candidate’s own examination date — admit cards become available a few days before the candidate scheduled exam — so candidates should log in and check their own status rather than waiting for a single common link. Paper-I for Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical) and IMD Scientific Assistant posts is held from 2 to 6 November 2026, and the Junior Engineer (Telecommunication) Paper-I is scheduled separately for 30 November to 1 December 2026.

Vacancy note: tracker pages differ on the total number of JE vacancies for this examination — one widely cited figure is 1,699 posts and another is 1,748 posts. Because the two figures conflict, no single vacancy total is stated as fact here; candidates should go by the vacancy position in the official SSC notice for their post. The admit card itself is what matters for the examination: it carries the candidate exact exam date, shift, reporting time and centre address.
City slip versus admit card: the exam city intimation slip released on 23 October 2026 tells candidates their allotted exam city in advance for travel planning, but it does not show the exact centre address and it cannot be used to enter the examination hall. Only the admit card, with the centre address printed on it, is accepted at the gate.
How to Download the SSC JE Admit Card
- Visit the official SSC website ssc.gov.in.
- Log in through the designated login module with your Registration ID or Roll Number and Date of Birth, as asked on the portal.
- Open the admit card link for the Junior Engineer Examination 2026, Paper-I.
- Download the admission certificate and take two or three clear printouts.
- Check the exam date, shift, reporting time and centre address printed on the admit card, and match them with the city slip — if anything differs, the admit card governs.
Candidates whose examination falls on 2 November 2026 should download the hall ticket immediately, since admit cards for that date are already live. Candidates with later dates should check the portal again a few days before their own exam if the link is not yet active for them.
Documents to Carry and Exam-Day Instructions
Carry a printed copy of the admit card and a valid original photo identity proof to the examination centre — entry without the admit card is not permitted. Reach the centre well before the reporting time printed on the admit card, since late entry rules are applied strictly in computer-based examinations. Read the instructions printed on the admit card carefully, including the list of permitted and prohibited items, and follow the invigilator directions at the centre. Do not rely on the city intimation slip at the gate, and do not carry any item that the admit card instructions prohibit.
After Paper-I, the next stages of the JE selection process follow as per the official examination notice. Candidates should keep checking ssc.gov.in and their SSC regional website for Paper-I answer key, result and Paper-II updates, and should preserve the admit card and application details until the recruitment process is complete.
