India’s space programme has opened a new chance for Class 10 pass candidates and ITI holders. The U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) in Bengaluru, a centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is inviting online applications for Technician-B and Driver-A posts under Advertisement No. URSC:04:2026. In total, 61 posts are on offer, and the online form window stays open from 24 October to 13 November 2026.
URSC is the lead centre of ISRO for designing and building satellites, so these roles put selected candidates right at the heart of spacecraft work — from assembling and testing satellite hardware to driving the vehicles that keep the centre running. The posts are temporary in nature but are likely to continue, and selected candidates may be posted at URSC Bengaluru, the Master Control Facility (MCF) at Hassan, or other Department of Space centres as per the advertisement.

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and ex-servicemen applies as per government rules, and the exact category-wise break-up for each post code is given in the official advertisement.
Eligibility Criteria
Technician-B
Candidates must have passed SSLC / SSC / Matriculation (Class 10) and hold an ITI / NTC / NAC certificate from NCVT in the relevant trade. For the Electronics Mechanic post code, only the allied electronics trades named in the advertisement are accepted, so applicants should match their trade carefully against the notice before applying.
Light Vehicle Driver-A and Staff Car Driver-A
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10), hold a valid light vehicle driving licence, and have at least three years of experience driving light vehicles after obtaining the licence.
Heavy Vehicle Driver-A
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) and hold a valid heavy vehicle driving licence. They need five years of total driving experience, including at least three years driving heavy vehicles, and a Public Service Badge wherever it is required by law. The experience must have been gained after getting the licence.
For driver posts, one rule deserves special attention: experience certificates given by individuals and part-time experience are not accepted. Certificates must come from government or semi-government bodies, registered companies, societies or trusts.
Age Limit
The age limit is 18 to 35 years as on 13 November 2026. Relaxation applies as per government orders — five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates, among other eligible categories. Age, qualification and experience are all counted on the last date of application, 13 November 2026.
Salary
Technician-B posts carry Pay Level 3, with basic pay of Rs. 21,700 per month plus admissible allowances. All three driver posts carry Pay Level 2, with basic pay of Rs. 19,900 per month plus admissible allowances.
Application Fee
Every applicant has to pay Rs. 500 at first, through online mode only. Of this, Rs. 100 is non-refundable for most categories. The remaining Rs. 400 is refunded to candidates who appear in the written examination. For SC, ST, PwD, women and ex-servicemen candidates, the full Rs. 500 is refunded after they appear in the written test, subject to the conditions in the notification. Candidates who do not appear in the written test are not considered for a refund. A separate application and fee are needed for each post if a candidate applies for more than one post.
Selection Process
Selection happens in stages. First, applications are screened on academic performance and the parameters prescribed in the notice. Screened-in candidates are called for a written test / computer based test. Those who qualify then face a skill test — a practical trade test for Technician-B and a driving test for driver posts — followed by document verification. The final merit is based on the written examination, with the skill test qualifying in nature. No TA/DA is paid for attending the written or skill test.
